Abstract
Many researchers eventually face a pivotal question: remain in academia or pursue a career in industry? This choice can feel daunting, largely because there is limited experience about what careers outside of academia look like. If you’re considering your next step—or simply curious about what industry has to offer—this talk is for you. I'll discuss how many academic skills are not just transferable but highly valued in an industry setting. To illustrate this, I’ll share my own journey into the research division of Bosch, one of Germany’s largest companies, along with examples of the exciting research challenges being tackled there.
